Piedmont City Unified Report
“Wealthy/white. Lots of families, though, work REALLY hard to pay their mortgage or rent. The city council is very accessible. Fire and police are in center of town. Two local papers. No libraries. Schools are the central part to the community. (“I’m worried what the community will feel like now that I don’t have kids in the school system”). In the center of town there is only an over-priced grocery store, banks, and high-end real estate offices. Parks exceptional. Piedmont Community Church is great. But the gross wealth has too much influence”.
“Wealthy, white, aging. To attend Beach, Havens, Wildwood, PMS, or PHS, a student must have a Piedmont address or be a grandchild of a Piedmont resident. So it is not surprising that the student demographic lacks diversity in race and economics.”
85.57% of Piedmont residents speak only English
The non-English language spoken by the largest group is Asian and Pacific Island languages, which is spoken by 15.97% of the population
